The signs are easy to ignore. Having worn tread or under/over inflation is usually not noticeable to the driver – that is, until you really need it. The vehicle handles fine until you need to slow down or swerve on wet, icy, or even sometimes on dry, pavement. To ensure your safety, try the “penny test”. Place a penny head first into the tread of you tire at several different locations. If part of Lincoln’s head is covered, you probably do not need a new tire.
